1. Your Right to Data Deletion
At TheTruPoint, we respect your right to control your personal data. You can request deletion of your data at any time in accordance with applicable privacy laws including GDPR and CCPA.
2. What Data Will Be Deleted
When you request data deletion, we will permanently remove:
- Your account information (name, email, profile details)
- Business and analytics data you've uploaded or generated
- Integration data from connected platforms (Meta, Shopify, Google Ads)
- Dashboards, reports, and custom configurations
- Billing and payment history (except as required by law)
- Communication history and support tickets
- Cookies and tracking data associated with your account
3. Data That May Be Retained
We may retain certain data when required by:
- Legal Obligations: Tax records, financial statements, and audit trails as required by law
- Dispute Resolution: Data necessary for ongoing legal proceedings or disputes
- Security: Aggregated, anonymized data for security and fraud prevention
- Backups: Data in backup systems (which are purged according to our retention schedule)
4. How to Request Data Deletion
Method 1: Email Request
Send an email to: privacy@thetrupoint.com
Subject: Data Deletion Request
Include:
- Your full name
- Email address associated with your account
- Account or company name
- Reason for deletion (optional)
Method 2: Contact Form
Visit our Contact page and select "Data Deletion Request" from the inquiry type dropdown.
Method 3: Account Settings (If Logged In)
If you have access to your account:
- Log in to your TheTruPoint account
- Navigate to Settings → Privacy & Data
- Click "Request Account Deletion"
- Confirm your request
5. Platform-Specific Data Deletion
If you've connected third-party platforms, you may also want to remove our app access and request data deletion from their systems:
5.1 Meta/Facebook Data Deletion
To remove TheTruPoint from your Facebook account:
- Go to Facebook Settings → Apps and Websites
- Find "TheTruPoint" in the list
- Click "Remove"
- Select "Delete my data from TheTruPoint"
- Click "Send Request"
We will receive your deletion request directly from Meta and process it within 30 days. You can check the status at our data deletion callback URL.
5.2 Shopify Data Deletion
To remove TheTruPoint from your Shopify store:
- Log in to your Shopify admin panel
- Go to Settings → Apps and sales channels
- Find "TheTruPoint"
- Click "Uninstall"
- Confirm the uninstallation
After uninstalling, send us an email at privacy@thetrupoint.com to request deletion of stored Shopify data.
5.3 Google Ads Data Deletion
To revoke TheTruPoint access to Google Ads:
- Go to Google Account Permissions
- Find "TheTruPoint" under "Third-party apps with account access"
- Click "Remove Access"
- Confirm removal
Request deletion of your Google Ads data by emailing privacy@thetrupoint.com with your Google account email.
6. Deletion Timeline
Processing Time:
- Verification: 1-2 business days - We verify your identity and account ownership
- Active Data: 7-14 days - All active data is permanently deleted from production systems
- Backups: Up to 90 days - Data is removed from backup systems according to our retention schedule
- Notification: You'll receive confirmation via email once deletion is complete
7. Verification Process
To protect your privacy and prevent unauthorized data deletion, we may request additional verification:
- Confirmation from the email address associated with your account
- Answering security questions
- Providing account-specific information
- Multi-factor authentication (if enabled on your account)
8. Consequences of Data Deletion
⚠️ Warning: Data deletion is permanent and irreversible.
After deletion:
- You will lose access to all dashboards, reports, and analytics
- Historical data and trends will be permanently lost
- You cannot recover your account or data
- Active subscriptions will be canceled (no refunds for unused time)
- You must create a new account to use the Service again
9. Alternatives to Full Deletion
Before requesting full deletion, consider these alternatives:
Account Deactivation
Temporarily disable your account without deleting data. You can reactivate later.
Disconnect Integrations
Remove specific platform connections while keeping your account active.
Data Export
Download your data before deletion. Contact support for export options.
